Yea, they're the same (at least I hope I was told right, cause they're in my engine.)

They are the same.

I have a set in this 83 305 motor I just drove from Dayton to Cinci this evening. So I'm pretty sure they work.

And most powerful of all are the PMS rods. They seem to be able to withstand any amount of pressure and force, and transmit it to the nearest associated component.

I have heard/read that as well, but found powdered metal con rods bolted around the journals of my '94 B-car crank. Granted, according to the label on the LF door, it was built in June of 1994, so perhaps some of the late '94s got them as well. Mine did. I've found the same kinds of oddities on my '86 TA, since it was assembled in July of '86. It still doesn't have a roller block, but it does have some of the features that are commonly claimed to have appeared first on the 1987 models. Possibly, our information isn't all that accurate.

anyone wanting to know anyhting there is to know about the LT1 motor should pick this book up...im glad i got one when i built my motor...

92-93 rods were forged and shot peened at the rod bolt head and nuts areas for increased hardness...
94 and on got the PM rods..normallly pm rods are cracked cap and cannot be reconditioned, but the LT1 rods have a small machined parting face so they can be reconditioned
