Will I be able to make decent power with this?
I am thinking about ordering a set of vortec heads, a edelbock rpm intake, roller tip rocker 1.6r, and maybe a 262* cam...this is on a carbed 350 with an edelbrock 600cfm carb and the compression will be around 9:1 with 64cc heads like the vortecs..So will this setup make decent power..I am looking for around 350hp and thats about it..if I can swing 400hp thats good but not neccessary..

Should work OK, except the carb is a bit too small, and it's a Carter carb not really a performance one. I'd suggest a Holley or Demon 700 or 750 CFM, if you haven't already bough the Carter.
Make sure you use real rockers, not the super-cheap roller-tipped stamped sheet metal ones. Comp 1400 series are the best bang for the buck in that sort of thing.
The stock gears for your car will kill it, if they're still there. You need at least 3.23s or 3.42s.

I agree, if you're going to buy fire for the motor, you need to get a carb that will feed it. Need to go with at least a 700CFM.

I have the carb on there now but I was thinking about a holley 750 double pumper for a carb..
As for the roller tip rockers I will go with the comp cams 1.6r magnum rockers........
and As for rear gears this car was originally a v-6 so it had 3.42 already installed so in this department i am set except I am gonna buy a zexel torsen diff so I can rid myself of the one wheel peel...
I think I am gonna step up on the cam though, I think I am gonna go up to the 268* extreme energy cam instead...sound good or no..

IMO a 750 DP would be perfect, the driver would simply be required to drive with some skill; i.e. no stomping it to the floor at a dead stop.
I ran a 800 DP on my 400 for years and years, it was great.
A looser converter would help too.

Bigger carb and slightly bigger cam. I would not go with anything smaller than 218 at .050 on a roller cam and 224 at .050 on a flat tappet. Those are like 269* advertised duration.
As long as you don't choke it with a single 2.5 inch exhaust pipe or something you should be putting down LS1 numbers.

My engine is a non roller block its a 1979 camaro engine so its just a flat tappet cam.. I have done some serious research and I have heard that a comp cam 274* extreme energy cam works great with these heads using 1.6r rockers..
as for the exhaust I just ordered a set of hedman 1 5/8" long tube headers which I will run 2.5" piping for my true dual setup ..
Now on to the converter....which brand should I use, I am thinking about stepping up to around a 2200-2400 stall if I use the 274* cam..

At least 3000 stall. 2400 is too low.
Continental seems to make good stuff. With a TH350, you're not quite as limited, though.

Balderdash. VS is fine for tow vehicles or slowing your car down. You want performance, use a DP and match the rest of the parts in the package to work with each other (for instance, stall speed).

a 750 dp is waaaaay too much carb for that combo maybe a 3310 750 vac.sec. or maybe a 670 street avenger.....

One thing I noticed is that my car is lowered and I don't think I can run long tubes with duals under the car do to lack of clearance...BUt I did find some Hooker super comp shortie headers with the y-pipe....after the y-pipe go into 3" piping into a hooker headers cat back...
As for the cam I think I am gonna just stick with the 268* cause the 274* is just alittle big for my daily driver and plus I have heard lots of good things about the 268*....what size stall should I use with this cam...a fairly cheap one though...cause I don't know if I will stay with a turbo 350 I am thinking about jumping to a 700 r-4
