How will a H-pipe affect sound and performance?

I have an 86 transam w/ 350, cam, headers, custom chip, true dual exhaust, etc.

Since i don't have an H-pipe now, how will it sound and perform if i put one in?

thankss

As I recall from an earlier post, you have "true duals", and your pipes are essentially side-by-side, correct? To feel the effect of an "H" pipe, your pipes must be separated by a least a foot (along both sides of the tranny, usually), and installed aft of the tranny crossmember. Once installed, you will gain an increase in low-end torque. Your set-up should be: headers (straight out), cats (each side), straight pipe, H-pipe behind tranny crossmember, pipes to muffler, to tail pipes. Hope this helps!! Anyone else?

Yes duals are required for an h pipe change your y pipe if you've already changed your exhaust if you have headers make sure the y pipe will bolt up
