@ questions-- OIl pan leak??? OIl on plugs??????

How hard is it to remove the oil pan? Whats involved? I have a leak at the rear and I hope its the pan gasket. Easy to do?????

Second, I removed my plugs yeterday to check them and noticed that the plugs are fine except for Some of them, on the threads, are covered in oil its only on the threads though. What is this?

unless i was leaking a lot of oil i'd leave the oil pan alone. i'd say your valve cover is leaking oil on your plugs

I'm with Ede on leaving the pan alone unless its really bothering you, might even be the rear mian seal.

As far as the oil on the threads of the plugs, this is my thought,

If there is no obvious leaks (valve cover, Etc.) the oil usually is caused by the oil in the cylinder creeping up the threads of the plug. It isn't very much oil and it doesn't burn off because its up the threads where the combustion process can't get at it.

It works just like WD40 penetrating up the threads.

Thats how I think the oil gets there.
