cam and intake
I am thinking of getting Edelbrock Performer cam and intake for my TA85 lg4. Does anybody know if this will work with the computer stuff and what hp gains I can hope for?

The intake is OK but isn't alot different from the stock one. Not a good "results per $$$" kind of item. If your existing intake isn't defective (cracked, broken-off thermostat bolts, etc,) I'd leave it alone.
The cam is not a good choice. I would not recommend it for anything.
Look at a Comp Cams XE262. It is a far better piece. Crane and others have similar designs that also work well; people say the Crane Energizer 272H is a good choice, but I've never used one so I don't know from personal experience. Look for a cam with the steepest possible ramps, so that the valves stay closed as long as possible, and then when they start to open, they open as fast as possible and stay at high lift for as much of their open time as possible. The Edelbrock cams are copies of ancient generic designs that work OK, but alot of better designs have come along since those grinds were invented years ago.
On that engine, the intake isn't the limit to its current performance anyway, so you will gain very little by changing it, no matter what you put on it. The biggest improvements you can make are THE EXHAUST first, all the way from the heads to the street; and after that, the cam; and adding the HO air cleaner in the process.
