race gas

my cousin lives in northern california and he ran by a gas station that sells race gas.. now he is not very clued in on the car world but i told him to pick me up a few gallons..

so my question is, what is racing gasoline, what will it do to my car and etc...

i think he said it was something like 4 bucks a gallon

Doubt its leaded so probably nothing. Jsut has a higher octane rating then the usual gasses, more additaves to prevent detonation. Gas with a higher rating burns slower, though, so it can cost a little power if used in a car that doesnt need it.

race gas is just a mixture of gas with a super high octane rating for cars with a big ratio of compression..

chances are you'll notice a difference if you run it but i wouldnt get crazy with it.

I doubt you will notice any performance gain. Really wasted money when the car doesn't need it. You might actually lose power using it.

if you don't need the octane it could very well hurt your preformance. more octane does not equate to more power.

Shorter head gasket is the easyiest way to go but you wont get 2 full points off it or anything.

Yeah, just drive the car around town for about two weeks rich as hell and don't get the rpms over about 2k. And that means no jack rabbit starts and the carbon deposits in the chambers alone will raise compression ratio quite well. My grandma must love high compression engines, because her's is always like that....haha.

I'm sure if you can find a real quick and easy way to do it, theres alot of guys that would love to know. Without tearing the thing down.
