Gaskets.

I'll be doing heads, cam, intake, TBI, etc over spring break, in the 305. What gasket set should I get? The guy at Murrays had only ROL, and I'd rather go with FelPro (for the same price anyway). I know I need head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, timing, possibly oil pan, and vortec intake gaskets. See sig below.

Thanks!

You can get felpro gaskets at autozone or advanced. Gm gaskets are okay to use as well.

are standard 305 gaskets the same as vortec gaskets (with exception to the intake gasket, which has the taller intake port) or are the head gaskets different? I planned on saving money if the vortec gaskets were more expensive, by getting a standard gasket kit with additional gaskets for the intake... but if the heads are different then i'll just go with a vortec set.

any part numbers for me?

Don't get ROL intake manifold gaskets!!
The set I got from them had gasket material covering the coolant hole at the back of the manifold. Over a few miles this gasket material comes apart due to the coolant and contaminates the coolant. Looks like crap.
I myself use Fel-Pro.

to bring up a dead topic...

will I need to purchase these identical gaskets once more? I'm going to be building a 350 roller block, with vortec heads. Sounds like I need all three of these items again?

Generally unless there's a leak you can get away with reusing the neoprene gaskets. i.e. oil pan, valve cover.....

I believe the quality of certain GM gaskets are better than FEL-PRO. Expecially the center bolt valve cover gasket. Can never keep the FEL-PRO in the rail. GM has the dimples on theirs.
