Well, Ive replaced all the ignition crap...cap, rotor, coil, plugs wires..all of that mess is new just to give you and idea of where i stand.

So the car will idle ok and if you give her gas she'll rev ok while in park. But sometimes just putting her in gear is enough to kill the engine. And when i press on the gas it seems to take a lot to get her going and as soon as she starts to go it'll cut off (possibly getting the gas all at once?)

I also posted in the carb section if that could be the problem, but i figured by posting here i could get insite other than carb solutions if the problem might be elsewhere

this is your lucky day. i was just cruising the boards not a member and saw this and signed up just to reply to your post. my friend you will probably find that you have a clogged cat(catylitic converter). mine did the same thing always ran when on the gas but with low power and stalled at stop signs and so on. take your cat off and jam it with a steel rod and knock all the crud out or just go buy a new one to be legal. its easy to do and will save alot of money and time. godd luck
