36. Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR
Problem in transmission shift OR
Fault in direct ignition system OR
Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal

45. Oxygen sensor rich

Sounds like a bad MAF sensor to me.

When I installed the new o2sensor I obviously didn't have the battery disconnected long enough for it to clear the codes. I did it again today and now only have code 36.

Would a new MAF solve the problem?

No, I don't believe that replacing the MAF will solve your problem. Read through the chart I sent you, it tells you to check the wiring and it could be a possible bad ECM or MAF sensor power relay. Not the MAF Sensor itself.

I used to get a 36 all the time till I replaced the MAF burnoff relay..

I also used to get a 45 O2 sensor rich when driving above 110 kph....

but it seems to have gone away.... and this happened for a few months after putting a new O2 sensor in..

You did reset the ECM after installing the new O2 right?

It had been reset for various reasons a few times... and it still came up...

The 45 code...

what was funny was, it would come on, for a bit, then some city driving at 50-60kph and then it would go away...

That's odd. But stranger things have happened.

You can get a code 45 at times if too much fuel is shot into the engine causing the o2 sensor to temporarily read rich. The same thing can happen if the fuel pressure regulator is set too high.

I just started getting the code 36 too. I tried to find more information on the MAF burnoff sensor in my manual but I couldn't find anything. Where is the sensor located?

It isn't a sensor, it is a relay mounted on the driver side firewall. Here is some info on the code 36 problem you have. BTW, welcome to the board.
