How do you get #5 spark plug out?!?!?!
I am in the process of changing my stock spark plugs over to Splitfires and I just can't get to the #5 plug, 2nd from the back on the driver's side. I can't even get my hand in there to pull the wire off! The blasted smog crap and steering shaft are in the way. I've already tried from above and below the engine. PLEASE help me out and tell me how to do this!!!!

you might try this, I use a short 5/8 offset box end wrench on mine. don't know what size your plugs are, but suspect you could give it a try. it's a tough one, I do know that. if you swap to headers, you'll find getting to the plugs a bit easier. how about that two gains, power and ease of getting to the spark plugs. a bit expensive if you're doing just for getting to the plugs tho.
Sometimes you just have to screw around with something 'till you get it. If I were there I would get it for you, but I haven't had any problems using just a long handle 3/8" flex head ratchet with a spark plug socket, and maybe throw a universal joint in there for some plugs. If I recall correctly, I used to get #5 from below. I don't remember having too many problems before I took the AIR system off, but if you take all that crap out just about anyone can change 'em. Good luck and stay at it and eventually you'll figure it out.

Well, the swivel socket worked. However, my problem now is that the car runs like crap. I know there are several possible reasons, such as one of the connections is bad, I hooked a wire up in the wrong spot, defective parts, etc. I replaced one wire at a time and double-check all of my connections, so I'm not sure what to try next. I sure hope I can figure this one out!
Did you drop or bang any of the plugs and close the gap on one? Just a suggestion, I can't think of anything else if the wires are OK. I suppose you could have separated one of the wires tugging on them too, so you may have to pull them again and check their resistance. Good luck man, that sucks
.
. You might want to check that none of your plugs were cross threaded during the reinstall. You may want to also check to see if any of your wires is on the exhaust or any other hot parts that may have burnt through and causing a short/ground. I felt like an idiot when I did the same thing on a friends car. Oh well, atleast I was able to figure it out.
