What you're looking for is the LT-4 hot cam. Check out Tom Keliher's webpage for a sound clip of how this cam idles. I think you would like it.

you will need the Lt4 valve springs and a set of 1.6:1 rockers. Also Im pretty sure youll need a custom chip - not sure. Other than that you will have a kick *** ride that will respond well to induction mods like shorter runners and a larger throttle body

The first thing I would do is heads and a cam.As far as which cam,it depends on what you want the car to do.If you drive the car daily then you might want a cam that's not so radical(up around .500 lift). If you just cruise with it and/or race it at the track, then you might want a cam with a lift over .500".Keep the lobe seperation at 112 or above or you could have problems with the computer. And NO they did not put 1.6 rockers on the L98 from the factory.I went with an LT1 cam with 1.6 roller tips, ported and polished my L98 heads, plenum, runners ,and base plus bumped the compression up a little, and it runs good for a daily driven car(summer months). I haven't taken it to the track yet,but I will this spring.

No, no thirdgen came with 1.6 rockers that I know about. They're all 1.5 non-rollers stamped steel.

I think the LT4 HOT cam is too big for your car. It needs an aftermarket intake, and good headers to perform at its best. I would go to www.sdpc2000.com and do a search for ZZ4 and get their take-off ZZ4 cam for $100. Also do a search on this forum for ZZ4 and see other topics I've replied to about this cam.
