DIstributor changing questions??

I am changing distributors on my car it is in a computer controlled quadrajet car which i am changing the carbs to but I was wondering how to hook up the vacuum advance distributor. How do I hook up the wires for it?

All it needs is power and tach. The big pink wire from the harness goes into the "Batt" spot, and the tach wire (white? goes to the filter mounted on the firewall, little siver can) goes into the "Tach" hole.

Do I have to cut the wires? and just wire them together?

You plug them in. Put your dykes away, you don't need them when you're working on a car.

At worst, you might have to crimp a different connector on the end of the wires. Which kind of distributor do you have now?

right now i am using a HEI without a vacuum advance and I already have the distributor out of the car and now I am lost to hook it back up?

What kind of distributors do you have? the small one with the separate coil, or the large one with the coil in the cap?

I have the one with the coil in the cap. The plugs are not the same are they?

The plugs are identical in every way. Just plug it in.

Ignore the 4-pin Weatherpack, it's part of the computer.
