Edelbrock Intake????

i am doing my exhaust soon and i'm thinking about doing the intake too. i would need a intake that's has the same dimensions as the stock bcuz i have the functional hood scoop and would like to keep it functional. so i need to know what edelbrock intake is the same height as stock. i thought the RPM is a little higher but i could be wrong. even if it's not edelbrock, but i want performance.

Thanks

Performer is your only and best bet then. But its not really changing to one, maybe +5hp. Its only a stock replacement manifold.

The rpm with a drop base filter would be another choice I believe.

if youre runnin stock internals, it doesnt make much sense to spend the money on an intake. the stock one works fine, it is the aluminum one , right?youre not gonna get any major hp just by swapping intakes. better spending it on a cam using it towards other mods, etc.

It's been documented that a "good" intake will net you a+20hp gain. A good intake is a RPM or Airgap RPM. For my money i'd go with a AirGap.

I can think of a few pros/cons, the Performer accepts both square bore and spread bore carbs... If you're replacing a cast iron monster it saves some weight, and the 2101 has no EGR valve (if you can do away with it) so it cleans up the intake somewhat.

I agree that the money is better spent on headers / exhaust.

it can be spent TOWARDS headers an exhaust......or could find a usedparts deal, ya never know. i got a wrecked 89RS for $200.00.....had headers (hedman), an a 3.23 posi, not to mention good interior, etc. exhaust was screwed up tho. i jus dont see wastin money on an intake that isnt needed, just cause the magazines say ......gain of 5-20 hp.yea, if you gotta iron one,but the aluminum one is fine for stock.

Yeah I m following you, I guess a fellow just has to sit down and make a plan, decide what he wants,,how much he can spend..then go after it..I agree headers and exhaust are the best upgrade if you plan to stop there...but we ALL Know what ends up happening..
