350 cu.in, car? truck?
Hey there guys, I hope someone can help me with this. Were there different 350's for cars and trucks in the mid '80's? A friend of mine said that the oil pan that I have on my car looks like it came a truck. Should I be concerned or is there such a difference. Thanks in advance.

There were differences, to be sure. Not that I'd be concerned about the oil pan, as long as everything fits in there with proper clearance.
Heads, cam, induction were the places where 350 truck engines suffer when slid into a performance platform.

no, oil pans didnt change like that, they changed in 80 for new block casting, and also when rear seal design changed in 86
car and trucka nd van will all be same,
it was ford and such that changed their pans for different models, not GM

I'm going to go out on a limb here. Look at the casting number on the driver's side rear of the block, if it ends in "010" and is in a truck, the chances are extremely good that it's a4 bolt main. I'm sure that there were some truck engines that were 2 bolt, and I've seen some "010" blocks in cars that were 2 bolt, but I've never seen a "010" block in a truck that was not a 4 bolt.
Now I know somebody out there is going to prove me wrong
