What happens if you ground the fuel pump wire...

I was trying to install a manual fan switch and accidentally spliced into the fuel pump relay instead...I didnt cut the wire but i did ground the green/white wire on the fuel pump relay, and now the car wont start. Did i fry the fuse?? Or did i fry the whole relay? How can i test the relay, and the ecm? And where is the fuse for the fuel pump located?

I thought the fuse was in the fuse panel, but maybe not on yours.
The relay might be fried, but it is unlikely.
Wiring a fuelpump relay to work is a very simple matter. You only need to trigger the relay 'on' by using an ignition 12v source that comes on with the key.
If the ECM is not turning the relay on then you may have another problem now.
There is really no need for ECM control of this relay that I know of, so if the ECM works in all other ways then I wouldn't worry about it.

I checked all the fuses in my fuseblock and they look good, however i couldnt find one clearly marked as fuel pump. Do you know what the marking is for the fuel pump fuse. Like "acc" "radio", etc... My ecm displays codes...other then that i dont know how to check it. Anyone have any ideas on how to check if the ecm is functional...man i hope i dont have to pay for a new ecm...
Thanks for the help ODB.

IMHO that is a bad idea. What if you are involved in an accident and the fuel line is torn? The pump keeps running and you have a large fire hazard.

The factory setup will stop the pump when engine stops (due to the torn fuel line).

I thought the fuel pump fuse was mounted on the radiator support on the driver side of the engine... at least that's where mine is...

I would only wire the relay up to test it, but i figure its only a $10 part, ill just go pick it up and hope it fixes it.
In regards to location...nope, mine is right next to the fan relay and they look almost identical...i guess when i saw two green/white wires i should have put down my tools, come inside and asked for someone to distinguish between the two instead of just grounding one to see if it worked, but oh well...live and learn.

I had a buddy do this on his '88 Suburban...and it blew the ECM fuse.

Take a look, wiring should be similar.
