6aL or what ??
I'm going to need to put a 6al in my 91 Z soon and I was wondering if that is really the best way to go or is there something else better out there??
it'd help to know a few more details about your car, but with out knowing what you have or what you want i think the 6al is great for most street/strip applications. if you want or need a 2 step rev limiter the 6al isn't for you or a retard box you might want to look at other msd products.

Well I am at the moment running 150 nitrous shot 155lph fuel pump, fuel pressure reg, and a few other mods.. and soon going to be installing a set of AFR heads, Slp runners, and base plate, 52mm throttle body and port the plenum, and a cam But I am still really in the stage of research for the heads and cam but I alrady have the intake and SLP headers.. I was tring to find some input on Ignition system that you guys would have some feed back on * also am still looking into what I'm going to do for the computer system * I would like to get a whole unit that is programable ... What do you guys think???
any info would be useful thanks!

I second what ede said.
I like MSD products and they work fine for me so far.
For computer systems I personally like the Fel-Pro system with wide-band. I am very impressed with this system running on Randy Eakins corvette. It is a 400 cid chevy with a very large but mild turbo combo on it. Runs mid 7's at 180mph on gasoline and is very drivable. I am always impressed by that car.
Of course Rieger goes faster with a Hal-Tec (I think) but not sure how streetable that car is.
GMI FAST is another fast turbo in the area that posts in the power-adder section here. I've not met him yet and I don't know what he runs for a computer system. I would ask though.
good luck,
ODB

Nah I remember now.
Rieger was running the Mo-Tec system.
last I saw was ziptied to his cage
Eakins used to run the old Hal-tec system back when he had a V6 running 9's. He ditched it for the Fel-Pro.
sorry old-timers kicking in.

Thanks for the info ODB
about the Fel-Pro computer do you know where I can get some more info on that like a link or anything so that I can check into it some more??
and the MSD I do think that I will go with the "MDS" brand but do you think that the 6al will be the model that I need (I ask cause this is the first EFI car that I've built and I'm not too shure as to what would be the best for that application)??
thanks for the feed back!

The MSD digital 6 is a nice unit and has more features. I use the Holly strip anhillator with my line lock. It has the 2 stage revs that I hooked up to a switch (one for burnout one for stage) with a button I could line loc and floor it and you can adjust how harsh all 3 rev limits are, 4-6-8 cyl, startup retard, has a tach built in, 2 rpm switches (great for a shift light and nos) and it's easy to control with the remote and I've been using it for 3 years now with the 40,000v 2A coil (Street/Strip) which is pretty powerful for an e-core coil and it never failed. The digital 6 is similar in most features. The crane hi-6 is a good one too. They're all pretty good IMO.

The MSD6AL is fine and I like it. It should work well for you.
However pricey I would go with the Digital-7 for more features for tuning (if money is no object).
The Fel-Pro system is not cheap either and will add a lot of tuning options. Here is a link.

This place makes great ignition AND EFI controls.

Thanks for all the info guys
I see that I have many options to ponder..
one last thing do you think that it is a must to "along with the MSD" for a better coil to go along with it.. I would assume it would
dose MSD have a Coil that would work ??
also I have read in the past that there is some modifying to replace them as well
This helps a bunch thanks guys
