my new 305 h.o. which has 0 miles and only 2 hours of break in time onit has been sitting all winter. I prep it to fire and I get some good high cranking alittle backfire somewhat outta the carb and just alittle put put outta the exhaust as if it was gonna go. Then after that scenerio it wont start at all, it's flooded out. For fact my timing is right on the money Im getting plenty of spark off the plugs. Im running a brand new edelbrock 600 elec choke, I even put an older edel 600 on, and basically the same effect. Im running the stock electric in the tank and mechanical on the block, I dont see to much fuel pressure as a problem, remember it broke in like a million bucks. I checked block to frame grounding, good dist. cap wire's etc. I've set the timing advanced and retarded a bit and no luck. I dont know what to do but see if I can get a couple of guy's who build stockcar motor's to look it over.

 

did you touch anything from the past year until now. ??? i ask since it backfired out the carb that would make me guess the distributor is 180 degrees out. Did you swap plug wires or anything else crazy?
