Need help with a cam
Ok. so far i've decided on all the major components on the engine. I'm having trouble with the cam. I need to pass local emmissions (it's a bitch). Lucky they don't mesure the nox. Only co and HC's. co must be under 0.5% and HC under 100ppm's. My old tbi passed with ease.
The Combo:
Stealth Ram (mildly ported)
SLP 24lbs/hr injectors (28lbs/hr @ 52psi, going to be used)
Holley commander 950 ecu
350 2 main block
Keith black hypereutic pistons with 10.1:1 compression (0.03" overbore)
Eagle cast-steel crack (polished)
Factory I-beam rods (X strenght, if it maters. Polished and lightend)
416 casting head (ported out, polished. Everything done humanly possible)
Manley stainless steel valves 2.02" int ant 1.6" exh
Edelbrock headers and flowtech catbat /w cat
all emmissions intact (exept egr, but i can fool the visual
)
How much do you guys think i could get away with without having too much cam for a stock converter. I have been offerd this cam ( http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...31&lvl=2&prt=5 ). Its been driven about 600ml. Didn't work right in a carbed 350.
I can allways cheat a litle with the sniffer by using methanol. It will reduce co2's but i'm really not sure how much.
And would this cam compliment the rest of the engine?
If i can't find a cheap cam iäm going with a custom grind one. Any good advice with that? I'm realy a nood when it comes to cams. I know the basics but i'm in a hurry. I need to get the cam in 2 weeks to get my car ready. Ordering for over there take a week.
Please, any advice would help alot. There are so few naturaly aspired 383 steath rams over here ( I haven't seen 1 yet, a friend has a superchaged one though
