305 to 350 TPI swap. Q's w/in...

I came across an 85 IROC with a burnt up 305 motor in it. The car is in really good shape, but the drivetrain is no good. He's selling it dirt cheap, so i was thinking, maybe swap a 350 i have in the garage for the 305, and back it up w/ a TH700R4 (also in my garage) My main question is, are there any differences between the 305 TPI and the 350 TPI setup? Im debating on keeping it, or using the carb set up thats already on the motor in my garage. I kinda wanna keep the TPI unit, cause i already have a carbed 350 3rd gen, and would like to try out the TPI. The car would be a daily driver, so the engines gonna stay pretty stock (maybe a cam and pocket porting at the most). I've heard that the TPI setup has great low end torque, and thats kind what im looking for here. I wouldn't be upgrading to miniram or anything obnoxious like that (especially since im on a budget). So what do you think? the whole thing wouldn't cost more than a grand if i keep the TPI (assuming its in good running order). Oh yeah thats brings up another thing, what should i be looking for as signs of a bad TPI unit? anything specific? I've never dealt with these motors before and am very ignorant about them.

wow i just realized how long this is, sorry about that, i guess i got carried away

injectors are the only difference. that car has 17lb injectors and the later 350 cars had 19lb but it will still run fine and you probably wouldn't even notice a difference. I would upgrade to 22 or 24#'s anyway if you wanted to mod it. 92-93 LT1's are 22's and 94# LT1's had 24's so you could possibly find some cheap from an LT1 guy who's upgraded. nothing on the TPI itself goes bad but like all motors, TPS's, IAC's and MAF's have a lifespan that could be short or long. TPI's are very overwhelming when you first look at them but they are no harder than a carb to mess with once you get used to them and know what you're dealing with.
