Transmission: TH350 W/Shift Kit
Axle/Gears: 3:08
problems with my daily driver.........(little long)
1991 buick century w/ 3.3l v6 125000 miles
the problem started yesterday after work. i as on my way home when i noticed i was low on gas(just under 1/4 tank) so i pull in and throw the last five bucks i had in it(93 octane like i always use) well when i started the car and put it in gear i there is now a hesitation whhen i give it 1/8 to 1/4 throttle, any ohter throttle position and the car runs fine. it doesnt do it in neutral. i also got up to speed(45mph or so) and downshifted into 2nd(its a 3 speed auto) and when i would give it 1/8to1/4 throttle there was no hesitation. it only seems to happen when the car is in first or third. Im thinking that its the tranny and that it is having trouble engaging. i checked the tranny fluid and it was fine. the plugs are only about 2000 miles old and the oil and filter were changed about 800 miles ago. what do you think could be the problem.

sounds like maybe just bad gas. Is that where you usually buy gas? What state do you live in? If it's Indiana or one of four other states (can't remember) the octane regulations for the stations there are NOT enforced - i.e. all octanes may be 87.

I live in florida and its int eh same place i always get gas.. yesterday i changed the plugs and wires and it still made no diff.. i filled it up with 93 octane like i always do and it still runs like i described and other ideas would the timing being off cause this(i havent checked the timing yet)
