"Check Engine" light

Mystery: A guy put an amp and sub in my '89 RS. When
I drove it - after about 5 minutes the "check engine" light
blinked on and off at irregular intervals.
A week later, I still have the problem. Engine seems to be
running ok. At 2500 RPM light blinks on 1 second, off one second,
etc. Any ideas????

On and off? Sounds like the ECM got locked into key on-engine on diagnostic mode. If I remember right, it's actually spitting out a rough approximation of your a/f ratio. On and off equal amounts = normal mixture. Longer on than off is rich, and longer off than on is lean, or something like that. Make sure nothing's been messed with at your ALDL connector....
