Grinding like noise when AC is on

Any of you had this problem before? I didn't really notice it until I went outside of my car when the A/C was on. is this normal at all?

No, sounds like the compressor has wasted itself. Make sure the noise is actually coming from the compressor and not some other part on the belt line. If it is the compessor, youll probably need a new compressor and, I think, a new condensor since I dont think the shrapnel and debris can be flushed out after the pump craps out.

Sounds like something is wasted on your accessory bracket.

How bad is the grinding noise? Does it just sound like extra drag on the belt? Some times with an older belt the A/C will create too much drag and the belt will start slipping. Just a thought...

I had a similar problem before, what I did to fix it was take off the tensioner pulley and clean it out as best you can. After you clean it, spray some wd-40 and you should be good to go.
