Help lost keys! more with in
well i eather lost them or some one from school took them. if i knew I lost them i would just get my VATS and get a key cut from GM but because some who knows me might have it, i would like to replace the ignition switch. has any one sucesfull done this them selves. if so how long how hard andy tips and how much

VATS has been an issue with us for a while, do we allow the exchange of info or not and would/could someone here use it for something other than a repair? since gold85 has his e mail in his profile please respond to him by e mail and i'll lock this. thank you for understanding.

Changing the ignition lock cylinder is fairly easy, however, you must use a VATS compatible cylinder and consult your dealer or a locksmith for the correct replacement key blank for you vehicle. Your VIN will be required for them to reference the correct blank, then they can cut the blank to fit your new cylinder.
I sympathize with your situation, but changing the cylinder for security is probably a good idea in your case. You might also consider changing the door and hatch lock cylinders if you lost a complete set of keys. This is time consuming, but might be worth the effort.
