souunds like im hitting rev limiter

but i dont have one.when I floor it (LG4) it takes off great, runs great, but right around 4800rpm and on it starts what sounds exactly like a rev-limiter.Most of the time its only for a second, and it goes right away when I let off just alittle.I recently put a accel module in,please dont tell me its that.it did make car run better,I swear.I have all computer controls and no codes. Most parts on my car are new or close(tune up items)and it does run great ,its just this.I am pretty sure it did it before the module was put in.no codes.valve?too big rods or hangers?timing?thanks

first,I didnt ask for anyones thoughts on accel. If thier stuff is crap then they make more in 1 hour selling that crap then you make in a year.Just because you dont like somethng doesnt mean its crap, some have been brainwashed by these boards.Anyway it did it before the module swap.So I guess its some other crappy part.Need a answer to my question, dont care what anyone thinks of the parts im using.o,and i gues you noticed a gain in power by adding that msd, please. Its an ignition.

your right ede.Its just everytime I ask something I dont get a reply but someone telling me the parts i bought are crap,or no good.I did say it did it before the module, but because the module is accel ,its that.I didnt buy the module to go fast,I bought it because I figured it was more reliable then a trak auto part.If im wrong then so be it.If i had asked the same question but not mentioned the accel module would someone still have said to check the module?Dont think so,the fact that I said accel got the response.I dont claim to have the best parts,or know whats best. And he may be right about the module, but unless he had one do this then I will look for something else causing this.If he said "I had a accel module do this" then it would be differant.Maybe I described the problem wrong,I guess it could be more like a backfire threw carb? Thanks and sorry for the attitude.

Did you replace the coil or just the module. On stock HEI's, I know they run out of steam pretty quick.
Or, at WOT at that area, check fuel pressure. You may be loosing fuel pressure and it cuts out.
My brither-in-law added a mild 355 to his '82 Z28, and when he went to run it at the track, it would fall on it's face at higher RPM's due to loosing fuel pressure from the old stock pump.
Accel isn't that bad of stuff, but there is better and some worse IMHO.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
