Air cleaner (dual snorkel on L69); cam (better lift & duration on L69); compression some years (not '86); larger exhaust manifolds, y-pipe & convertor on L69.

Decal.

35-45 HP, depending upon year.

Besides the engine differences, there are often many other differences between a car with an L69 and an LG4. Mainly in the rear end...so not only does the L69 produce much more hp, in many cases it gets it to the tires more effeciently.

I've heard, but don't know for sure, that the carb is different as well.

Didn't the L69 cars have 3.73's in the rear?
Or was that just an option? Mine had 'em, until the carrier and ring-gear self-destructed.

85_ZED28, what do you think of the 80 series flowmaster with the LG4?

What kind of tone does it give you?

I am debating between the Flowmaster 80 series, and a Hooker Aerochamber...

Thanks

The cam is different in the L69 as well as a bumped up compression ratio. There are differences to the carb for the L69. Metering rods I think? All L69 cars got the 3.73 rear gear although some are posi some are not.

Didn't the L69 have a specially calibrated Carburetor and lighter flywheel as well ???? Im also pretty sure the intake was aluminum because the car was a Z28 where the LG4 has an Iron intake in Sports coups and Berlinetta Camaro's.
