I have a Comp Solid lifter Cam. its a 282 grind with .495 lift and comp recomends usin ther 981 springs, i plan on using 1.6 rockers and want to know what springs to run.

I used to run that exact cam and those exact rockers... I used 986 springs.

981s will not work because of the higher lift created by the 1.6 rockers. Unfortunately the 986s are 1.45" outer diameter whereas the 981s are stock 1.25" outer, so you'll have to get your heads machined if they are stock. It is quite cheap if they're already in the shop though. Many of the aftermarket heads come with that size spring pockets already.
