Leaking PS pump
Leaking PS pump
Am I missing something or is there a mysterious place that PS pumps leak from. I leak about a pint a week and I've replaced both hoses and all o-rings. They're good and tight so that shouldn't be it. The fluid is definatly not going out of the steering box 'cus it stays dry and the bottom of the pump is always wet.

Did you replace the one huge O-ring, about 4" in diameter, that goes in the front where the pump fits through the reservoir? That's probably it. More than likely your reservoir is deformed, in which case you need another one.

Nope, I didn't even think about that. When you say my reservoir is probably deformed, do I need a new one or just replace the o-ring? I'm thinking this is not something to buy at Auto Zone.

The usual cause of the symptom is that someone pried on the reservoir to tighten the belt, instead of prying on the pump itself. So, you may or may not be able to fix it by replacing the O-ring.
You can try, however. Take the pump completely off, get a pulley puller for it (they "rent" them at Auto Zone) and remove the pulley, take off all the brackets, then there's only one bolt on the back plus the check valve in the HP line IIRC that hold the reservoir on the pump. The pump is cast iron and will come out the front of the reservoir. You might be able to straighten the reservoir, maybe; at least you'll know what you have to do at that point. AZ might have a rebuild kit which will have the O-rings in it, if not, NAPA does.
