86 Camaro Sports Coupe

so i found out my car was a Sports Coupe(SC) unless i was mislead, but i havnt really been able to find any information out about the SC, anyone know anything off hand that makes it different from the iroc? only info ive been able to find is on the rs and the iroc =/

oh alright, when it was sold to me (i was 16 and didnt really know crap about crap) i was told it was an SS, found out later there wasnt an SS in 86, and was told i had an SC

nope no such thing as an SS 3rd gen camaro what so ever.. SC was basically the base model camaro, right under the RS for years until the RS was made the base model.

89RsPower! is correct. The SC (Sport Coupe) is the base model Camaro, but came with many available options from the factory. A fully loaded SC from 86 would be an LG4 305, 700-R4 trans, power windows, locks & hatch, fog lights, t-tops, cargo cover, special interior package, AC, three-piece rear spoiler, etc. Not sure what else there was. A stripped down SC from 86 was a v6 with pretty much nothing.

Yup, a loaded Sport Coupe is an excellent platform for high performance. Plus they are lighter than average because they don't have ground effects, and generally give a nicer ride due to their softer spring rates.
