Is a Crane Compu Cam 2040 kit to radical for my application?

I wan to put a new cam in my 86 305 TPI Iroc.
I have not touched the heads or cam yet but I
am going to do the cam this week. Will this cam work? I do have pullies, digital 6, nitrous, 3.73's, all the goodies in the tranny, plenum done, working on the throttle body, heads, injectors and base as well.
CAN I RUN THAT CAM?
Please advise ASAP?

we need to know the specs of the cam duration @.50 the rocker arm ratio stuff like that. it will probably work but when you get into durations over 224@.50 it get tricky

Assuming I have the correct specs (210/216 @ .050, lift @ .440/.454) I think it looks about right.

I have a cam that spec out at 204/214 @ .050 w/ .420/.442 lift in my old 86 IROC's 305 TPI (basically a 2030), and it is alot better than the stock cam, but I think I could have gone a little bigger. The 2040 looks like a good bet, it's just slightly bigger but I don't think it will be too big.

I'd try it...

BTW, I was running that 204/214 cam in the 305 TPI auto w/ the only mods being a ADS computer chip, flowmaster cat-back, catco 3" cat, ported plenum, shimmed FPR, and 3.42 gears w/ a rebuilt auto. No head work or anything, stock exhaust manifolds. I drove the car for quite a while w/ it in this state of mods and was really happy w/ the cam. I have since retired the car to my brother, and TES headers are up next for the little 305 TPI...

Thanks for the information. Those are the correct specs Ray 87. Do you have a suggestion for a roller timing chain and gear? I am running a Digital 6 MSD, dynomax headers, accel coil, taylor wires, ADS superchip and other mods.
I plan to redo the heads porting and polishing and adding new springs. I am unsure as well what to add for springs, any suggestions....size, type etc? What about a damper?
