I recently bought my first camaro. It's an '89 RS. It has cruise, but it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas? I have a v6. I don't know much about vaccum lines, from what I read it sounds like that's my problem. Can someone walk me through what I should check? Could it be as simple as the control arm inside the car?

I think you are on the right track with vaccum. Do you have any problems with controling the heat vents. They are also controlled by vaccum and they use a hard plastic line that gets brittle and breaks. I would suggest that you follow all your vaccum lines checking for loose lines and damage.

where is this plastic line? My vents are decent, the pressure is a lot weaker than in my 89 beretta, so i figured something was wrong with it. how do i check them?

If you can control where the air comes out of (defrost vs. heat vent vs. dash vents) the plastic line is not your problem. Check your fuses and vaccum lines. There is an article in the tech section on how to fix your cruise control that may help you.

Also look at the cruise control module mounted under the dash on the passenger side.
