Throttle body has a cut in it!!!

Well, yesterday i went investigating my high idle problem. For the longest of time it would idle at 1,000 rpms. I picked up my throttle body cleaner and went to clear out the throttle bores. Well, when i opened the blade i saw what looked like a crack. Then i looked closer and it was cut into the bore. It's rigidy keeping my blades from closeing. My question is, can i just use 2000 grit sand paper and debur the cut? or will that mess something up? I just would hate to buy a new throttle body...but if i have to, then i'll just do that.

For that wear to depelop, the bushings that the shaft rides on must be shot. You may be able to replace the bushings and lightly sand the ridge down, but this may result in too much bypassed air still. It would be a perfect core to trade in on a 52mm tb if you plan to go that route (easiest and cheapest).

I have my old tb ('88) thats in good shape except for the bottom manifold bolts are snapped off in it (if you want to stay @ 48mm). Yours will probably break also when you remove them (coolant does nasty things to them). If you can drill and retap the holes i'll ship it cheap (e-mail me if interested). If your not in a hurry (I need around a week) I could do this for you for a small fee.

I'm not sure if reman'd 52mm come with the bottom piece (iac/coolant manifold) so make sure to check in on this before sending it out. (they may expect you to re-use it)
