New Intake Gasket - Still Leaks!
i did all this at the same time, just because... i put my edelbrock tes header system on, and my intake was leaking water and oil(i think both) on the front right if the intake where the water hole is. so i was going to replace the intake gasket, runners, throttle body. ect. and also my injectors were reading bad ohms, so i replaced those too. in the whole mix of this, i get finished, and i fire it up and fill it back up with water, and i take it for a spin, come back, park it for a bit an look under the hood, and there is oil spitting up onto my fire wall on the driver side of the distributor, i cant tell, but i think its my rear intake seal, i used alot of black rtv that came with the intake manifold set. why is this leaking, its not from the distributor gasket, that checked out clean. could the intake spit oil up that high? should i check something else before i pull everything off again to redo the intake gasket? i think maybe me driving it around blew the rear seal or sumthing, but after i put the intake gasket on, it set for 3 days before i fired it up. and it wouldnt spit oil on the firewall before i drove it around. only after i drove it around.
the rear china wall is a very good place to have an oil leak. also might be leaking from the oil sender or distributor. since it's easy to do i'd replace the sender and make sure you use pipe sealer on the threads. clean everything up and see if it still leaks. if it does might be time for another intake gasket.

ok, i found out that it is either the rear seal of the intake or the ntp fitting next to the distributor, more than likely the rear seal because it didnt leak before i did the intake gasket. anyways, is there some trick that i need to do to make the rear seal perfect, i mean ive did intake gaskets several times with out a problem, always used black rtv. also now my oil pressure gauge is reading 45-50 at idle and tops out to the max over 60 psi when 3000 rpm is met. maybe because i drop some gunk or dirt in the valley, would that mess the pressure sending unit up? it seemed to work fine before i did this. strange thing also is it wont leak while it is sitting there idleing and reving in neutral, when i drive it down the street and back it leaks like crazy.

Chances are it is your real seal along the shina wall. Make sure you overlap a tad bit on the intake gaskets themselves. I use about a half inch bead. Anything less and I usualy get a little seepage.

i used about 3/8" bead and overlapped a bit on the side gasket. what exactly do you mean by china wall? is it the part where it merges up a little bit to meet with the side gaskets?
