Precision Performance Engines, any good?
Precision Engine Rebuilders
"Quality parts – unlimited mileage Engine Warranty
Professional built CRATE engines"
http://www.precisionperformanceengines.com/
their engines are reasonably cheap but they offer seemingly veyr low compression rates but high amounts of power.
Check them out.
Shane
I will ask them about a better combo then shown, i'd like a combo the same as the $1599 engine but without the Edelbrock Performer Intake, and with more like 64cc heads, will the reduction in cc bring the power up, or should i leave it high for more torque?

i just called them up, and asked them a bunch of questions they seem very knowledgable and professional, they atleast picked up the phone after 2 rings. I asked them if i could get the 350 Street Stock motor with 64cc heads instead of the 70cc it currently has and it would go up $200. Which dont seem bad from a distance but it relaly is. I think i'll just order the engine and then sell the intake and sell the heads. and get some vortec heads and a vortec TPI intake manifold.
My question to you viewers, is if i were to get one of these engines, how would i maximize performance with economy also. I'm keeping TPI, i think, and gonna try to get vortec 64cc heads, Iron Ones, and that might give me more peak horsepower, but what about compression ratio, will that ruin my torque numbers??
Thanks,
Shane

i thought low compression ratio was usually meaning more low end toreque but it dies later on, and that low is bad for horse power, but high gives high amounts of horse power, and high higher rpm torque.

i wouldn't buy an engine from them. And why do you want to buy a longblock engine and then sell the heads and intake.
Buy a shortblock.....
or if you want vortec heads, buy a 350HO. I have one, runs great.

Start here. Google may turn up other useful resources that will help you understand what various properties of an engine do.

waste
of
money.
the entire reason to get their crate engine is the warrenty.
first thing you plan to do is toss that out the window when you tear into the motor.
plus, you're paying for a assembled longblock, and then just tossing the heads and intake away...
go buy a shortblock. or better yet, call your local machine shop and ask them how much to build a shortblock. then you have someone you can talk to, face to face, if somthing goes wrong.

alrighty, well i just called around jacksonville machine shops and there is actually a very good one in town, several other machine shops that i called that dont do full rebuilds recoomdned me to these people.

They are located here in jacksonville, fl, and for a 350 fully rebuild with a 3 year 36k mile warentee its $1395, thats uninstalled, for it to be installed it will cost $2400, but i asked them if i get the engine installed by a certified mechanic(my mechanic) will the full warentee still be there, he said certainly, as long as he is certified. I was like cool.
I am defiantely gonna be doing my business there. Tomorow, i'm gonna take a trip to their facilities and see what its all about, maybe even try to find some local people who have their engines and all.
They even have a lot of buildings too, the guy had to run from building to building cause nobody else would pick up the phone, so... And guess what, i caled them and left them my number and name, and guess what, they actually called me back, thats a big wow right there.

1395$ is way cheap, but then again you get what you pay for. i charge 400 to take apart and reassemble an engine. i do a few things for the 400 dollars that most people pay a shop to do.

I am going with Regon Engines. I am getting a 383 9.8:1. Dyno tested and guaranteed to be at least 400hp and 440Tq. It has a 234/244(which I think is a little on the mild side) with Dart heads for $2700.
