Ummm.. why not just toss in a ramjet 502, or build a 454 and go DFI, or a nice low compression 383 and twin turbo it... The logistics of what you are saying is as hard, if not harder than the suggestions above. Any particular reason, or is it the being different factor?

LS2's are gonna cost a crapload until they have been out for a while and a supply builds up. Good luck ever finding one. There also going to be very compicated engines with lots of sensors wiring a computer controlled crap.

Yeah it sounds like a cool and unique idea but the fact of the matter is its going to be near impossible to pull off. I would just build a nice big inch small block with a holley stealth ram setup, it would cost less and would be easier to do. Good Luck.

why the LS2?
if you want a GENIII 6.0L engine, get a 6.0L out of a truck, a good set of heads, a bigger cam, and a LS1 style intake. Volia, an engine almost identical to the LS2, but wait...... more power.
Or spend 1/2 as much and buy a GENI SBC and make about the same power.

Especially a PITA considering that Cali smog requires that all the parts of the fuel / ignition / emissions system are included in the swap as well as the tranny that comes with that engine.
The smog ref will see to it that your life becomes extremely complicated.
For the cost, and labor, by the time you're done with that swap, you could have put a payment down on some beach front real estate and have something that would increase in value instead of depreciate.
Or you could swap a viper engine into your car.
