86 gas tank in 91?

ok so it turns out itll definatly fit.....my question is will the fuel lines work correctly.

im assuming it will but this is a lot of work to *assume* itll work.

the 86 was a carbed berlinetta. so it had a mechanical pump.

i carbed the 91 and plan on running an external pump

so the lines definatly look different.....but it should all work out right?

is the strainer on the 86 style lines in the tank replaceable?

it looks like the strainer was made onto the metal line....doesnt appear that itll come off....not easily at least....and i dont want to tug at it and tear the strainer if its not supposed to come off and be up s#$%^ creek with no paddle.

also on the 91 one of the lines that lead into the tank goes to a diaphram looking deal on the lid (not the taco bell valve)

the 86 has the same line leading into the tank but it has a plastic black cover on whatever it is as opposed to the diaphram looking deal.

im not sure of either ones purpose and where the lines are fed from so i dont know if itll cause a problem or not....like i said....in theory it should work since the 91 is carbed and the 86 tank was on a carbed car.

should i just use the 91 lines and rig up a strainer without the pump in there or should i use the 86 lines going into the tank that doesnt have to be rigged to work since it never had a pump on the lines in the tank.
