Im scared :-)

Not scared, just wanted to get attention for people to read my post. SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!

It started with a vibration under higher torgue like accelerating (any rate of acceleration), It was normal at highway cruising at any RPM.

Then this noise started where it sounds like someone droppin something in a tin pan...but at a constant rate, not like something bouncing around randomly....

And the vibration went away, the sound seems to be coming from the area of the Belts, Water Pump, Radiator area, doesnt sound to be internal of the engine itself.

When I shut the car off, you hear almost like a ball spinning from centrifugal force in a tin can or something like that and stops maybe 5 seconds after the engine has stopped. So far twice I have felt the vibration kinda bad while accelerating.....

Oil pressure is fine, Battery charging fine, power steering fine, car suffers no power loss although I have not really opened it up since it started.

What the h*** could it be?

Sounds like the inertia ring on your harmonic balancer has broken entirely free of the blob of spooge that ordinarily connects it weakly to the actual engine... it could launch itself through the radiator, or who knows what. You need to get it taken care of ASAP!!

Don't try to set your timing right now. The timing mark is adrift.

Yes that would be my guess also. My idiot firends 86 vette did this. Unfortunaltely, he kept driving it (bump shifting @ 5500rpm with a stock L98) until it shattered into 3 pieces.

So I guess nmy next question is........how much is it gonna cost me to get that fixed....sounds expensive.

Well a new harmonic balancer will cost ya about $60, but you have to remove everything in front of it to get it off. This means crank pulley and fan at the very least, but I think just to get a wrench i nthere the radiator has to come out. Then you'll need a balancer puller which you can rent from Autozone for $15. You get the 15 bux back when you return the puller.

Could be the balancer but it could be as simple as the fan clutch bearings are gone!

If it is the balancer, you can do it on your own for cheap. When I changed the timing chain on my motor I had the balancer off. You shouldn't have to take the radiator or the fans out. Just take the serpentine belt off and then the balancer pulley. Rent the balancer puller tool and the install tool. Get yourself a new balancer and just swap them over and put the pulley and belt back on. You can probably do it in an hour or two since it's your first time.
