That's where your personal preference comes in to play. It depends, how much are you willing to do and spend to get this car the way you want it?? There are thirdgens out there that were taken care of religiously with 200k on them and look and run great. Then there are those with 60k out there that look like they have been through hell and back. Do your research, ask for maintenance paperwork, "interview" the seller, find out as much as you can about the car regardless of the mileage and make your decision from there. Last but not least, if the seller is someone who frequents this place, for the most part I'd say that the car is pretty well taken care of. Good luck.

Mileage don't mean squat to me. Most of the "wear out" items are usually replaceable w/ high performance parts, and are usually replaced before the stock piece wears out anyway.

Like Kevin said, it depends on how it was taken care of. My car has 160,000+ miles on it, and it looks better than some of the 50,000 mile cars out there. Plus you can usually get a better deal on high miler cars.

120k if well mantained or halfway mantained should still run very good. I had a 305 that had 300k on it it used a qt of oil between iol changes but i got my bang for the buck.
A good sign if the car is running right is to start it cold and see if its puffing out blue smoke then drive the car when its warmed up and see if the transmition is slipping "pop it one". In general a car with 120k on it should be in proper running order just make sure that every thing is sound take it to a mechanic before you buy it and check the blue book price out at www.kbb.com/ to make sure its not to high. My 1989 Iroc has 235000 miles on it with the orignal 305 tpi and it runs and looks better than when I bought it. yes it does matter on how much people take care of there cars, mine sees a oil change at every 2000 miles no later, hell oil is cheap, cheaper than replacing broken engine parts. I my opinion it is up to how the car runs, looks and drives, and then it is up to you if you want it or not.

My Camaro hah 148K when I got it, and 155K now.

It runs perfectly, And looks Almost new.

Look at the previous owners other cars, To get an idea of How well he took care of it.

and check oil pressure, get a Buddy who knows about cars to take a look at it for you.

How well it wsa maintained will be the key here.

Alright, lotsa personal experience good w/ high milage cars, heres one not so good. My car was a piece of sh*t. I bought it 2 and a half years ago, rebuilt the trans, rear end, and several top parts of the engine. However, I got it cheap! $3000 in a running condition. I knew it was a project car! Everything I fix on it is a "upgrade". Just get a look at it, talk w/ the guy, and decide how you want to play it. Do you want something you never have to get your hands dirty w/, or something you can't wait to get your hands dirty on.
Good luck w/ it either way!
