Whats this piece i just broke??

I dont have a pic but i was doing the TB bypass.It goes from the block to this black piece that has 2 heater hoses coming out of it.I will need to go the chevy place tommorow and order one.Any idea??

sounds like the heater control flow valve. or bypass valve. either way it shuts off coolant flow when head is not needed

Yep, sounds like a HCV. I got one at AutoZone for $20. I'd bring it with you though, we had a heck of a time finding what it was listed as. I went home and got the part and came back and the guy knew where to find it right away. It has some abstract listing as something weird, but I don't remember what it was.

Thats the piece.I was just on a gm web site and they want $94 dollars for that sucker!!I will call the dealer and hopefully it will be cheaper.Its called a pre heater valve but is definitely the same thing.

I would check around at advance autoparts or autozone and see how much they have it for. They are almost always cheaper than dealers/.

they are around $15 from autozone. part number 74805 for my car.
i assume its the same partnumber for yours, since i dont think they ever changed, just ask the guy at the counter to look it up for your car, or goto www.autozone.com and find it yourself
