Car: was: 1984 Camaro Z28
Engine: was: L69
Transmission: was: 700-R4
Depends, what kind of engine? Is it a two piece RMS or one piece? If it's a two piece, the engine needs to be disassembled to get to it, since it is in the rear main bearing cap. Read as very $$$ for just a RMS change.
Don't confuse the RMS for the rear oil pan seal, that's different.

Cloud,
The seal on anything with a TPI but a 1985 should be a one-piece, which requires removal of the transmission and flex plate. I'd hate to guess the cost.
Incidentally, there is a procedure for installing a two-piece seal with the crank still in the engine, but the oil pan still has to come off to get the main caps loose. Not a fun task in a ThirdGen if the engine is still in the vehicle.
