Ahh it's dying on me!
Yeah, it almost did it in the middle of the street yesterday!!
I did a search on this, but couldn't find anything that described my exact situation.
Here's what happens:
I start it. Note that this will happen whether it's hot or cold.
I'll usually give it a little gas just after it's started to smooth out the idle that will otherwise clunk around 550 and 490 approximately.
I'll put it into gear (reverse, 1st, 2nd, drive or overdrive) and start to move. Now, if it's going to die, which it does approximately 45% of the time, it will die within the next 30 seconds. After it dies I wait a few minutes, floor the gas, crank the engine, and it will start back up and won't die again.
I'm thinking maybe a bad coil? I have no idea if it was ever replaced on my car.
If anyone has had a similar situation, could you enlighten me as to the end solution? Thanks!

uhh the sticker is gone lol. its the stock quadrajet.
No vacuum leaks, don't know about the choke - how do i check?
distributor cap is fine. tune-up is fine, although it probably needs a new fuel filter, but i heard that the filter won't restrict fuel flow that much so i don't think that's it.

Idle should be around 700-800 rpm. At least, thats what the sticker for my L69 said.
