Roller rocker question

Man.. ive looked all over but kind find the roller rockers i need...
Centerbolt valve covers;
3/8 in (or 7/16 i might switch if i cant find any for 3/8);
NON self aligning;
STEEL ( Both Harland Sharp and Crane make one in aluminum, but i prefer steel for durability)

Thanks for your input.

im running the pro mags with my centerbolt valve covers... and with a 3/8" stud, non self aligning, and yes, they're steel.

you just have to mod the bracing on the intake half of the bolts.. no big deal.

inside the centerbolt valve covers are these little braces that spread the load from the bolt holes to the edges of the cover.

where the pushrods meet the rockers, the rockers are close together.. so close that the bracing would just hit it.

by bending the lower lip of the brace, it fits between the rocker... some people bend the lower lip, others cut the straight part of that half of the brace off... just dont make the mistake i did of cutting all of that half of the brace off..

or, you can swap to cast alum covers... then they're stiff enough not to need any bracing.

Oooh, thanks.

I think I'm going to be getting valve covers anyway. So if they are not baffled, i dont require roller rockers that are centerbolt specific?

Thanks, good info.

the baffles have nothign to do with it... baffles are between the rocker sets.

the BRACING is what the problem is. you need to modify it to clear.

if you're buying covers, i would get cast alum or billet alum ones since they'll be nice and stiff.. easy to seal.
then you just have to grind/file a little on that bracing if they dont fit......

I have heard of people cutting the braces and then the valve covers wont seal properly

I never cut mine...

I took some pliers and just flattened them vertically. Cutting them would be a hack job. Mine seal 100%.
