Some time ago I was cravling under my 86 T/A and looking at the gas tank (my T/A was rearendet and I have a small dent on the gas tank).

I saw something I think is very strange.

There is a hole in the tank, and when I looked through that hole I saw a blue plastic. I put my finger at it and it feelt like a plastic bag fillet with water.

I assume that the inside the tank is covered with a plastic bag but I dont like that there is nothing to cover it.

My questions is:

Shouldn´t it have some something to cover that plastic

Perhaps it has had something but it fell of when the other car hit the rear end of my T/A and damaged the gas tank.

Where, exactly, is the hole? Yes, a photo would be great. AFAIK, there is no liner/bag in an '86 fuel tank.

 

My T/A is being painted so cant take ađ picture right now but I will try to remember after the weekend.
