is it illegal to purchase/posess an R12 hose w/o certification?? because..umm....this guy that i know...yup, this guy, put his last can of R12 in his Camaro today, but he's not really sure if it all went in because it seems that a fitting on the hose was slightly leaking. this guy has sources, so he can get more R12, and also found a hose by mail order, but wouldnt want to get in trouble for getting that hose. so, can anyone help this guy out by letting me know??? hehe thanks

you need certification to buy r12, not have it since it was leagal for anyone untill a few years ago

As Ede said, you can have R12 and hoses, fittings and all that stuff, they just made it so you have to be certified to get more.
