if there is just a little left in it shouldn't matter, might smoke a lot, but you should be ok.

Yea, my mom did that once with her Grand Prix. We siphoned out as much as we could out of the tank and let it run till it was sputtering and almost out of gas. It smoked real bad during that. After that, we just filled up the tank and ran stp injector cleaner and it had no problems.

IHAM,

Drain it and refill with gasohol. The ethanol will reduce(thin) the kerosene and allow it to get through the injectors. You will probably get really smokey for a while, but there should be no permanent damage if you take it easy on the throttle while it gets burned out.

My neighbor "78yo old lady" filled her old fNord truck up with deisel "and who does she ask for help " I drained about 12 gallons and left a few in there then filled it up with gas. It smoked for about a week then cleared up no problems. funny thing was it actually ran with the deisel fuel about 10 miles before the plugs fouled out.
But you should be fine as long as you use some injector cleaner in your next few tanks.

just drive it and it should be fine. add gas as you go though. like every 1/4 tank you get rid of add some gas. once you get it thinned out, let it run as low as possible. not really that big a deal. i do have a question though, how did she get it in? gas stations are supposed to have a larger nozzle on the diesel pumps so they can't fit in the filler neck of an unleaded gas car. i'd go back to the gas station and point it out.

Just curious, but how did she fit the diesel pump handle into your gas filler tube to fill it with diesel? I thought all the diesel pump tubes were a bigger diameter than unleaded and would not fit into an unleaded cars gas tank filler tube.

Don't ask me how I know that, I'll just say that I was close to being in your same boat, but was saved by that safety feature.

The deisel pump at this station is the same size filler neck as the rest of the pumps. even though the pump is clearly marked as deisel fuel, in red letters.
The manager of the station was very helpfull after the attendent f'up. Its not worth it to sue, i was more concerned with my car.
One thing i did learn..never..ever..let some dumb inbred 16 year old fill your car up while u go take a leak. His famous last words before he was fired " I thought it was a diesel"..diesel camaro..jeezus.

a guy i know that drives 1995 pustang GT, filled his dads 1997 dakota sport full with diesel, then decided it wouldnt hurt it, tried to burn all the fuel out by being on the throttle all the time. he eventually -after a day- burn up the bottom end of the motor, and melted the oil pan. it cost him almost 5,000 to get it fixed. man i laughed so hard. i hate that kid, he is soo dumb.
so whatever you do. be careful. and do drive a ford!
