Idle probs and more

Hi group, new to the board but need help,I have looked over many past posts already but have questions.86tpi 700r4, All of a sudden runs very rough and idle problems. Local dealer shotguns fuelpump and have them replace valve gaskets at same time.Oil sending unit on back is prob shot as gauge goes allover. Said original pump not keeping up,110000 miles. Doesnt seem to fix the problem. They replace EGR , solenoid and TPS. On test drive it now wont go into overdrive till 3000rpm and wont hardly start. Pulled wires off mass sensor and in a brief time loads up and quits.Runs better off idle they say but check engine light still on and bad! idle.Only code ever was 42. Never had any of the other stuff till they got it. They did also do wires,plugs,cap... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Allan

You paid for them to fix it but they didnt. I would take it back there and have them fix it for free. Code 42 is an ignition problem. Check for loose wires around the distributor. Not plug wires, the smaller wires.
