spark plug doing weird stuff

hey guys i notice something like 20 min ago when i was setting my base timing.when i had the est disconnected,spark plug # 3 was doing something ive never seen before.by the white stem of the spark plug were it connects to the back nut ,u could see like the light of the sparks by the there.this is not normal correct?when i put the est back on and restarted my car it did it again but when away wat can this be?

arcing. Check to make sure all the boots are firmly on the plugs. If so you have bad wires.

It could also be a broken insulator. Ive done that one before. If its arcing around through the boot then youll most likely want to buy new plug wires. That one is most likely carbon tracked by now.

Ditto on the arcing. You either have a bad plug wire or it is not snapped on all the way as mentioned above. The wire may be salvagable if you are sure it is pushed on all the way. You can expose the clip by sliding the boot away and squeeze on it so that there is a better contact on the end of the plug. Repeated removal and installtion of plugs wires expands the little cup clip (why can't I remember what this thing is called?) in the wire.

If it was sparking at the point where the porcelain meets ther metal plug portion, it sounds like a cracked insulator on the plug (possibly from dropping it or torqueing it down too tightly.

I'd replace that one plug and try it again.

yeah guys i did have a cracked insulator on the plug ,so went and bought a new plug.car runs good again .guys wats a really good brand of plugs for us?
