Noob question about dist. wire coming loose and making my car die

well i'll start out by saying that your car will be okay, it's just like turning off your car with the key.
now for the lesson... DUCT TAPE IS NOT A GOOD FIX FOR A CAR
lol. It works, but that is the lamest look for a engine. i'm sure you could spread a little silicone over the clip and it would be fine then if you let it dry long enough (not too much incase you ever need to take the plug out)

Actually the best fix would probably be zip tying the connector on. Better than replacing the connector unless you can do it without soldering new wires in or something. Same thing happened to me before and nothing bad came of it - just scary when it happens going up a freeway ramp at 80.

Sounds like somebody used a 90° terminal on the coil wire, probably so it would "look" good; where they should have used a straight-in terminal.
Put the right end on the wire, instead of half-***-rigging it somehow.
