Rear crankshaft leakage

Hey guys,
i got a question, My 91 cheverolet p/u is leaking where the crankshaft is on the back of the engine, I guess its called the rear main, or the one piece seal? Anyways, my truck is a 5-speed and im pretty sure the oil is getting on the clutch, which is probably why i just changed it and it was sort of glazed. Can i pop a new seal in there without pulling apart the engine and taking out the crankshaft? If not, is there some sort of a temporary fix that has been developed?
Thanks

Thats the rear main. In a 91 it should be one piece, as opposed to 2. IT can be replaced, but it's a pretty big deal. I *think* for a one piece you have to pull the tranny, clutch and flywheel. You'l also have to pull the starter, jack up the engine, drop the oil pan, and then change the seal.

There really isn;t a temp. fix.

Jester is correct except for one thing...you don't have to lower the pan and jack the engine on a one piece seal.

They just pop out like an axle seal. Just be real carful when re-installing, you don't want the "lip" of the seal to fold over when pushing it back between the crank and block.

I lube the inside of the seal real good but don't put anything on the outside of the seal.
