Engine stalls while driving?

Today I went about 20 miles with no problems. I stopped to fill up the tank and then my car started stalling. I would be going about 30mph or so and it would just die. Sometimes I could tell that it was gonna die and other times there was no warning. It wouldn't restart for about 5 or 10 minutes each time and I could only go about 2 miles before it would happen again. It would run fine and then start running rough and kinda bog and die. I finally had to get a ride home and when I went back to get the car about 2 hours later it started and made the 20 mile trip home but was bogging if I gave it very much gas. Could the gas I bought have been that bad or was it just a coincidence that I had just filled it up? Anyone had this problem?

It has a cc quadrajet with a new fuel filter and new fuel pump and the plugs, wires, cap and rotor appear to be in good shape.

Hmm, It could be because you got some crappy gas, but I'd check out your distributor cap and rotor for any carbon fouling on the contacts and such. I once had the distributor in my Caprice take a crap and it did a very similar thing from what you described. Maybe try filling up with some fresh gas from another station.

There was some carbon on the contacts in the distributor, so I cleaned 'em up. I found a vacuum leak too and fixed it. It's running smooth now in the midnight air. The real test will be tomorrow when I go to Autozone to get a new cap, rotor, and plug wires! Thanks for the help!

Update

Problem was a bad ECM.

I can't stand it when somebody posts a problem with their car and then never tells if they fixed it, sold it, burned it, or drove it off a cliff!!!
