I presume you have a 305. The fast burn heads are the corvette aluminum heads with a 58cc chamber. From what I've heard these will perform well on a 305. Vortech305 and Willie both use them and have seen good results.

Mods
Custom exhaust. 4 Inch pipe from the headders all the way back to a single muffler at the rear. No Cat. K&Ns, AFPR and Air foil.

Future mods:
Cam change
New torque converter
New heads (maybe corvette L98)
Strut brace
Sub frame connectors
Ram Air

Fast Burn heads and L98 heads are totally different. Nothing in common.

They are not practical as a bolt-on for an otherwise stock 305, but might be OK for a properly set up 350. Plus, as you can clearly see, there's no exhaust crossover passage, therfore no EGR unless you get the Vette external setup for it, although it might be possible to install one. I don't know if that matters to emissions testing in your area.

Not the same head at all. Even though they dont have all the smog equip in the heads, they may pass a sniff test just due to the fact that they have a VERY efficient combustion chamber. On a properly tuned EFI motor and a stock or mild cam, you could probably pass a sniff test at the tail pipes. Again, I have no hard data to back this up, but Ive seen worse past sniff tests.

The only mfr that makes Fast Burn heads is GM... it's a trademark

What are you really asking? Do you want to know what a good head might be for some particular application? If so, tell us more about what you're trying to do and maybe somebody can help you out.

Yep, but other companies are already copying the combustion chamber design. The Sportsman II heads have what they call a "Fast Burning" chamber. Essentially the same chamber design as the GM FastBurn head.
